It is no secret that President Joe Biden can no longer function without a teleprompter, becomes easily confused and distracted, and cannot display the confidence necessary for a ninety-minute debate, even one hosted by his cheerleaders. Why, then, did Team Biden encourage their failing candidate, who witnesses say is only functional from 10 am to 4 pm, to stay up past his bedtime and debate a fierce, motivated verbal warrior like Donald Trump?
Insiders reveal it was a setup designed to reveal the depths of Biden’s mental decline so they could force him to step aside.
According to one source, Team Biden knew from the start that Biden would stumble. The anonymous source said the Democratic leadership has publicly supported Biden to avoid disloyalty to the President. However, ongoing private internal discussions have suggested he’s too old to defeat Trump. For weeks, the source said, there were rumors that Biden would bomb the debate.
A former Hillary Clinton aide agrees, noting that until this year, a debate had never been held before September, a few weeks after the Democratic and Republican conventions. The aide observed that Biden’s own team demanded the early debate, alleging it was a “soft coup” designed to force Democrats to abandon Biden.
For his part, Biden refuses to cooperate. Calling his performance “one bad night,” the President insists his poor showing was because he “didn’t feel well.” Before the debate, perhaps as a proactive excuse in case of poor performance, it was widely circulated that Biden “had a cold” when he took the stage.
Biden is finding few allies now, even among the media outlets his team relies on to whitewash the truth. In a scathing report, the New York Times called him “reckless” and suggested that the “greatest public service” Biden can do is to “announce he is not running for reelection.”
Former President Barack Obama has been asked to step in and convince his former Vice President and close friend to drop out of the race. According to a source, besides his wife and sister, Obama is likely one of the few people Biden would heed. At least one major donor has directly urged Obama to intervene and bring this situation to a close so they can move forward.
Even Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), historically a Biden mouthpiece, has said he would be open to finding a replacement for the failing candidate.
According to insiders, Democrats are openly searching for that replacement. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, 52, a leading candidate to replace Biden, quietly dispatched an advance team to Washington, D.C., weeks ago to prepare for a potential presidential campaign. Her team has been actively meeting with Democratic officials since before the debate.
Following his catastrophic debate performance, Biden is facing mutiny from his donors. Major donors are freezing funds, and celebrity supporters are leaving Team Biden in droves. Hollywood activists such as George Clooney, Steven Spielberg, and Julia Roberts have already donated millions to Biden’s campaign but are now publicly saying they are having second thoughts about his political future.
Eight weeks ago, Biden had a $100 million lead over his political rival. However, after Trump was convicted of paying off porn star Stormy Daniels, he received $53 million in donations within 24 hours. Now, Trump has $240 million for his campaign compared to Biden’s $212 million.
If the Democrats sought to undermine Biden by forcing him to debate Trump, their plan was a success. A Morning Consult poll found that 60 percent of people think Biden should “definitely” or “probably” be replaced. Additionally, an Ipsos poll shows that 73 percent of those who watched the debate rated his performance as “poor or terrible.”
Democratic party leaders and potential candidates to replace Biden will meet in person and via Zoom over the next few days, coinciding with America’s Independence Day celebrations on Thursday.
A campaign insider noted that with Washington closed down, it’s easier for people to have private discussions. They mentioned that Biden has a week to prove himself, and if he can be convinced to step aside, the announcement will come in about two-and-a-half to three weeks.
Unlike most Democratic strategies, this plan was a success. Trump supporters fully expected Trump to falter in a setting that liberals cherry-picked. Instead, they saw Biden stumble through ninety minutes of awkwardness that was painful to watch.
This attempt to force a presidential candidate to step aside is, by Democrat’s definition, an assault on democracy, election interference, and an “insurrection” in its own right.
