America has been facing a growing epidemic of car thefts ever since our Southern border was thrown wide open. The state of Washington alone saw a 65% increase in vehicle thefts in the past year. Nationwide, car thefts increased by about 14% during the first two years of the Biden-Harris regime. The number of stolen cars is now approaching 1 million per year.
Three cities in Washington are on the list of the nation’s top 10 cities for vehicle theft: Bremerton, Kennewick, and Wenatchee. Theft rates have risen dramatically in 34 states. The number of stolen cars in Oregon rose 40% in the past year. Vermont is another hot spot for people to get their vehicles stolen.
Six of the top ten stolen vehicles are made by Kia and Hyundai. Interestingly, electric vehicles are the least likely to be stolen by car thieves. Despite their much higher value, EVs are confusing to drive and painfully expensive to repair. Not even car thieves want them.
One question that comes to mind is, where are all these stolen cars going?
Nigeria, according to the Port of New York and New Jersey. It’s not just teenagers going for joyrides in the stolen cars. The Harris-Biden regime has allowed so many international criminal organizations into the country that they’re now shipping stolen vehicles overseas. Nigeria is one of the locations where a stolen car can fetch the highest prices.
The Port Director says they’ve located 368 stolen cars in shipping containers during X-ray inspections during the past year. That’s more than one per day that foreign gangs are trying to smuggle out of the country. Don’t you miss the good old days when we didn’t have crime happening at this magnitude in America?
