The sort of people who watch “The View” with Whoopi Goldberg and take it as anything but a joke are the same people who believe President Biden is doing a good job, that inflation “just happens”, or that we would still be safe with open borders. Suffice it to say their audience and panelists lack any real insight into the pulse of America.
Yet, every once in a while, something strange happens. An event where you tell your grandkids “I was there.” Now, we have one of those moments.
As it turns out, even Whoopi has her limits as to what is acceptable. With the House of Representatives unable to agree on a speaker of the House for entirely too long, the Democrats have been trying to poke fun at Republicans who just can’t seem to get someone through. In response, the Dems elected to take to the politician’s favorite civic engagement tool, Twitter.
Democratic Reps Ruben Gallego (AZ), Robin Kelly (IL), and Ted Lieu of California (CA) decided that this is just a show to sit back and watch. Gallego wrote “We are breaking the popcorn out in the Dem Caucus till the Republicans get their act together,” and showcased a photo of a holiday popcorn tin with some Coke. Kelly and Lieu tossed in their photos and claims of being on the way or getting ready.
These messages put Whoopi at odds with her co-hosts. “Congress can’t get anything done or swear anyone in until a speaker is chosen, and all the Democrats sitting around with the popcorn, that’s not funny to us! This is serious business here. You’re there for a reason. We got to figure out who’s gonna get this House in order here.”
Meanwhile, co-host Joy-Behar celebrated what she called “disarray” before coming to the collusion that Republicans are attacking each other versus “destroying the country.” Never mind how much the liberal policies she loves have destroyed America.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin couldn’t help but join in. She suggested Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy had caused the division Behar referenced when he chose to not step down after losing three straight ballots. Other co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Sara Hines just parroted leftist rhetoric with no original thoughts of their own on the matter.
In essence, the co-hosts did what they always do, and that’s riding the leftist train as led by their savior Hillary Clinton. This self-serving bunch of pigeons is incapable of independent thought, so for them, these repulsive actions from the left are beyond acceptable. Had this been done by conservatives, they would have lost their collective minds.
Seeing Whoopi not only stand up for conservatives against the left in this instance is a historical moment. To publicly see one of the top celebrity liberals with a huge public platform denounce the actions of liberals as childish is an incredible feat. It means that they have finally found the limit of too far, and all it took was for them to showcase just how childish their way of thinking is.
For the queen of late 80s-early 90s comedy movies to denounce the childish antics of politicians is also possibly a sign that we can find common ground with liberals. It can be done. We just need to allow them to get a bit out of line, and suddenly their pied piper is ready to reel them back in. Fortunately, it is during a more flexible time in the election season, so it won’t be as damaging as it would be in other months.
It’s time the left wakes up and smells the coffee. Acting like children are destroying the country, as are your immature policies. Even your own supporters are tired of you.
