As you well know, Joe Biden’s open border policies have led to millions and millions of illegal immigrants crossing into our neighborhoods and communities over the past few years. And now, Biden is paying millions of taxpayer dollars to communities and non-governmental groups (NGOs) who have helped to house those illegals.

According to a recent announcement and report, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security is taking more than $290 million taxpayer dollars from the Shelter and Services Program (SSP) and giving it to 34 sanctuary cities and NGOs.

For example, sanctuary jurisdictions like San Diego County, California, receive over $15 million from DHS. Denver will get more than $8.6 million.

Of course, New York City, the nation’s largest sanctuary city, will receive the bulk of the funds, a whopping $104 million. Chicago will get about $10.5 million, and Illinois will get about $19.4 million for declaring itself a sanctuary state.

Regarding NGOs, the World Hunger Ecumenical Arizona Task Force (WHEAT) will get $15.5 million, and Catholic Charities will receive more than $24 million in government funding.

Of course, the monies are supposed to strictly be used to help house and settle illegal aliens in those jurisdictions or where the NGOs operate.

If you didn’t know, it already takes about $143 billion in US tax dollars to provide for the 11 to 22 million illegals living here. And now, Biden is paying out more.

While the funds are desperately needed in those sanctuary cities to endure the high cost of lost jobs, depleted wages, increased crimes, higher housing prices, and strained public resources, wouldn’t it just be easier and most cost-effective to close off the border and deport some of those illegally living here?

As Texas Representative Lance Gooden said recently, “The surge of illegal immigration, fueled in part by NGOs like those on the (Emergency Food and Shelter Program) National Board, is unsustainable and unfair to law-abiding citizens and immigrants alike.”
