Sen. John Fetterman just congratulated President Donald Trump on a historic peace plan.
The Democrat from Pennsylvania praised the agreement between Israel and Hamas. Fetterman highlighted how he and Trump share an ironclad commitment to Israel.
“I congratulate @POTUS on this historic peace plan that releases all the hostages. Now, enduring peace in the region is possible. Our parties are different but we have a shared ironclad commitment to Israel and its people.”
Fetterman’s statement comes after Trump announced major news on Truth Social. Israel and Hamas both signed off on the first phase of a peace plan.
Trump wrote about the breakthrough agreement.
“This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace. All Parties will be treated fairly! This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen.”
Trump’s post about a peace deal comes after he announced on Saturday that Israel had agreed to a proposed withdrawal line. Once Hamas agreed, a ceasefire would be immediately effective.
“After negotiations, Israel has agreed to the initial withdrawal line, which we have shown to, and shared with, Hamas. When Hamas confirms, the Ceasefire will be IMMEDIATELY effective, the Hostages and Prisoner Exchange will begin, and we will create the conditions for the next phase of withdrawal, which will bring us close to the end of this 3,000 YEAR CATASTROPHE.”
The day before, Trump issued an ultimatum to Hamas. He gave them 48 hours to give an answer on the proposed peace deal.
Trump’s tough negotiating tactics worked. Hamas faced a deadline and responded. They agreed to the first phase of the peace plan.
All hostages will be released very soon. Israel will withdraw troops to an agreed upon line. This represents the first steps toward lasting peace in the region.
Trump thanked the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey. These countries worked with the United States to make this historic event happen. The collaboration shows Trump’s diplomatic skill.
Fetterman’s praise is significant because he is a Democrat. Most Democrats refuse to give Trump credit for anything. They oppose his policies at every turn.
But Fetterman recognizes the importance of this achievement. He put country above party. He acknowledged Trump’s success in bringing peace to the Middle East.
The Pennsylvania senator emphasized their shared commitment to Israel. Despite political differences, both men stand firmly with America’s closest ally in the region. This bipartisan support for Israel is crucial.
Trump’s peace plan addresses one of the world’s longest-running conflicts. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has lasted for decades. Many presidents have tried and failed to resolve it.
Trump succeeded where others failed. He used direct communication and firm deadlines. He made clear that all parties would be treated fairly. He brought together mediators from multiple countries.
The release of all hostages is a major humanitarian achievement. These innocent people have been held captive by Hamas. Their families have suffered for months or years. Now they will finally come home.
Israel’s withdrawal to an agreed upon line shows compromise. The Jewish state is willing to take steps toward peace. But they did so with security guarantees in place.
Trump called this the end of a 3,000 year catastrophe. He understands the deep historical roots of this conflict. His solution addresses both immediate concerns and long-term stability.
This is a great day for the Arab and Muslim world. It’s a great day for Israel. It’s a great day for all surrounding nations. And it’s a great day for the United States of America.
Trump’s Middle East policy has been consistently pro-Israel. He moved the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem. He recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights. He brokered the Abraham Accords.
Now he has achieved another historic peace agreement. This one involves Hamas, one of Israel’s most dangerous enemies. Getting Hamas to agree to anything is remarkable.
Fetterman’s congratulations show that some Democrats can still recognize achievement. They can still put national interest above partisan politics. They can still give credit where credit is due.
Trump delivered peace through strength. He used American power and influence effectively. He brought together unlikely partners. He set deadlines and held parties accountable.
The result is a historic peace plan that could transform the Middle East.
