Biden Admin Spends $53,000 per Household to Solve What Elon Musk Already Has

If you haven’t noticed, the political left is well on its way to controlling just about everything you do, see, hear, eat, etc. Their latest attempt is to gain control over your internet.

How?

Well, let’s travel to rural America for a moment. For those of you who don’t live there already, you might not know that the internet can be somewhat hard to come by, at least internet that isn’t sluggish or just outrageous in price.

While companies like AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile say they offer internet in even the farthest regions of the US, the fact is that when it comes to rural living, most can provide minimal speeds, if anything.

So naturally, the government wants to help out.

In fact, they have a whole program dedicated to just that, according to the Wall Street Journal. Known as the “Internet for All” project, the Biden Administration has vowed to spend more than $60 billion to ensure every American can get internet wherever they live or work.

It sounds kind of nice, to be sure, minus that $60 billion price tag.

I mean, the program and its spending means that places like Nebraska’s Winnebago Tribe, for example, might now have internet that isn’t so “sluggish” as some have described it. The plan is basically to install fiber-optic cable throughout the area, which is the industry’s standard.

However, it means the government is shelling out an average of $53,000 in taxpayer funds to connect each and every home or business. Just in case that wasn’t clear enough, that’s $53,000 per home…

And at a time when the US government is already far beyond broke and should be spending its time and energy on much more important things. But I digress…

Another point to be made is that Biden’s administration is, as usual, taking the most expensive route possible.

As you likely know, fiber-optic cable is not the only internet option out there. Sure, as I said before, it’s the industry standard. But it’s not like other options can’t compare.

Take Elon Musk’s satellite internet company, Starlink, for example.

Starlink has been a godsend to thousands around the US who have struggled to find either affordable or reliable internet in rural areas. True, as satellite internet it’s not as ‘reliable’ as cable, at least not at the moment. But as all Musk-related things do, it’s only bound to improve as time passes.

Plus, it’s a helluva a lot cheaper.

Sunshine Thomas-Bear, the Winnebago Tribe’s historic preservation officer, says her family uses Starlink and has for a while now, noting that speeds are “sufficient.” She can get what she needs to with little to no problems. The only downside is that the initial setup and equipment can be rather costly, a few hundred dollars, which few in the area can afford.

Now, it’s important to note here that Thomas-Bear is paying for Starlink as a private citizen. The government isn’t involved at all.

Compare that to what the administration is doing with fiber optics; they are covering the entire cost – at a whopping $53,000 a pop. Wouldn’t it be more affordable and cost-effective to pay a couple hundred each to have Starlink put into these homes instead?

But of course, that won’t happen.

Firstly, like any controlling and tyrannical man, it’s not their idea.

Secondly, it would mean that Musk and not liberal Washington elites would control that internet. And we all know how much those elites crave control. Already, they’ve gone after your cars, your stoves, your diets, how much alcohol you consume, and more. And now they want their hands on your internet.

No doubt, we can all imagine how they might use that against us in the future…

Like everything else the political left has tried to “help” you with over the last few years, it’s not about getting you what you want or even need. It’s all about control.

Before we know it, there won’t be anything left they don’t have their fingers in. And my guess is we won’t be nearly so free.
